We’ve been project managing a loft conversion in South London and are excited to share the ‘almost finished’ photos. Our clients have taken care over the details and the result is stunning. They have chosen Senso resin flooring for both the shower room and bedroom. Roof lights flood the space with light, and carefully selected sanitary ware and bathroom fittings add to the wow factor. A neat, space saving, oak pocket door leads from the shower room into the bedroom.

Our creative clients have finished scaffold boards with wax and they now make for a feature wall in the bedroom. It’s always a pleasure to be part of making someone’s home even more beautiful, and this new loft is certainly one that our clients will enjoy.

At our extension, again in South London, we’ve fixed the timber batons ready for the external cedar cladding.

And we’re even making sure the family pet has a cat flap to come and go through!

We’ve had a busy and exciting few weeks here at Create.

We’ve started some new projects and are looking forward to showing you some pics of the work as we progress with it.

In our blog this time, our Information is all about Permitted Development. Our Ideas and Inspiration are rolled into one, with photos of a beautiful kitchen extension we’ve completed.

Permitted Development

Whether you’re looking to improve your existing house or carry out major works to one you’re intending to buy, it pays to understand the scope of the available Permitted Development (PD) rights.

They are granted in the form of General Development Planning Orders (GDPOs) which apply separately to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and, in effect, they give implied planning consent to carry out certain classes of development.

In order to carry out work under PD the work must strictly conform to the current criteria, so it does make sense to either check with your local authority before carrying out the works or have a qualified surveyor confirm that they are in order. A raft of measures granting new Permitted Development rights in England, including those for rear-of-house extensions, came into force on 30 May.

Here at Create we will work with you to ensure your work complies with all planning legislation, including Permitted Development rights.

Ideas and Inspiration

If you’re planning a new kitchen we hope these photos will inspire you… There are three large velux windows over the double width breakfast bar, making for a space filled with light that leads straight out into the garden for relaxed summer-time living. Enjoy.
